I have lost all my phone contacts

I have somehow lost all my contact details off my phone, however I still do have them all in my outlook contacts... Can anybody help me to retrieve them as when I save contacts they don't turn up in my phone contacts.

I'm sorry to hear about that.

When you are trying to save new contacts, which account are you saving them to? If you are trying to save them to your Outlook account, It does sound like the filtering option for your Outlook has been turned off.

To turn this back on, start with opening up the Contacts application > 3 dots in the top right corner > Filter, in the bottom you should see the text "Display contacts", below you will see the different accounts that you have added in your phone, press on your Outlook account and make sure that all the small boxes next to all groups are checked. Once you have done that, go back to the Contacts application and check if they have appeared here again.
