I swap between my phone and laptop a lot. When I turn on my Bose QC35ii, they automatically pair to both devices. To swap between them, I just hit pause on my laptop and hit play on my phone and the transition is seamless.

With the XM3s, I have to turn off bluetooth on my phone before I can connect to my laptop. Then I have to switch off bluetooth on my laptop and reenable bluetooth on my phone and manually hit connect before I can switch back.

This is terribly slow and completely unusable. A $15 pair of bluetooth earbuds can do this with no problem.

I plan to return the headphones unless this is resolved soon.

Any fix for this planned?

Just wanted to add my vote to this. It’s incredibly frustrating to switch BT sources. Like the original poster I have just bought these and think I might return for the Bose models if there isn’t a straightforward way to do this. A £300 pair of Bluetooth headphones that cannot swap sources is a ridiculous shortcoming.
