HELP!!!! Crashed Sony NWZ-B183F Walkman mp3

Hi there, my little Walkman just crashed and it also crashed my laptop...

I was copying 4 Audible files from it to the laptop, but only 1 file made it.

I managed to restart my laptop, but the Walkman froze with the message 'Do not disconnect' on the screen.

The Back/Home button (nor any other) doesn't work.

I can think of two alternatives:

1) If I do a RESET... will I lose everything that's on it? Silly question, I know, but I need to ask it...

2) If I just let it run out battery, will I still have the crashing problem coming back?

using the Reset button apparently will not delete your files. I found this in the help guide here:
