H.ear on 2 touch controls problem

Hi!

I just purchased a new pair of Sony h.ear on 2s and after pairing it up I realised that the touch controls were partially not working. The volume up and down swipes work just fine, but the play/pause and skip track functionality are not working. What can I do to fix it? I tried re-pairing already and it did not fix the issue. I am using a xperia xz if that helps with diagnosing the problem.

Thanks to everyone who replied! The issue turned out to be with my phone and after resetting that, the touch controls started working as intended!
