Headphones mic settings

I've recently purchased a set of noise cancelling headphones for use on conference calls in the office - as I am partially deaf I struggled to hear on standard headphones due to background noise.

The sound I hear is fantastic - but the trouble is, no one can hear me as the mic picks up all the background noise.

I can not find anything in the help pages/manual but urgently need help else these are going back!
