topic TA-AN1000 amp in Hi-fi Systems

Hey all,

hope you are enjoying your amazing Sony products!

I have a question concerning AN1000:

My current setup is 5.1.2 but my surround speakers are SA-RS3 and my subwoofer is SA-SW3. In this case AVR is using Hight Channels inputs for Atmos speakers and surround channels are free because I'm using wireless rears...

Question is why i can't use free connectors for bi-amp? Only hight can be used for bi-amp or hight? Why i can't reassign surround connectors when they are wireless? It's not like its using amp power from AVR wirelessly, its only channel signal that gets sent to SA-RS3 like when using them with soundbar.... Or am i wrong?

Sony please fix this!

Hi @MrHomerJ,

What I have figured out is that the surround channels, even when wireless, are not reassignable for bi-amp purposes due to the way the receiver manages channel signals and power distribution. Also, the wireless speakers receive their signal wirelessly, but the receiver still allocates power and channels based on the setup configuration.

If that's the case, you can report this to Sony themselves to check if they have a solution: https://services.sony.co.uk/supportMVC/en/Contact/
