Sony HDR-TD10 usb2 transfer speed?

What transfer speed are you getting over USB2 when transferring footage to your pc using PMB? Mine seems ridiculously slow at around 14mins per 1GB. When I got back from my holidays it took about 14hours to transfer the internal 64GB memory to my pc.

My PC is only 18months old and is USB2, the cable is USB2 as well. MY HDR-SR12 camcorder transfers much quicker with the same cable and usb2 port.

Bit of a long transfer time. Whilst I do not have one of these myself, I have found in the past, specialist products like these may vary in transfer speeds depending on the software being used as it may need to do different things.

PMB might be running an additional analysis for the 3D content so that it knows what to do next. If possibly, try just as a test copying straight from Handycam to a folder using My Computer to see what happens.

Might give some more insight.

That all sounds as you'd expect with those interfaces. PMB may well be your problem, as Watashiwateshdes points out.

The only way to check that would be to try it with different editor software – Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, etc – I'd expect you'd find much better performace in several areas.

Well direct copying via the camcorder and usb2 lead was about 10MB/s

Direct copying via USB2 card reader was 12MB/s

Direct copying via USB3 card reader was 23MB/s

If my maths is right 1GB in about 14mins (via pmb) is about 1.2MB/s:smileyconfused:
