As you have gathered from the other thread, it is most probably a hardware problem and needs to be looked at by Sony. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;One model, and I can¿t remember which, has a software patch that corrects a similar problem to this but unfortunately it is not the A317S. &lt;BR /&gt;Best of luck with Sony Support ¿ let us know how you get on, as this sort of information is always of help to other users.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi - newbie with a recently purchased VAIO VGN A317S.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It's a great laptop, but I've just  noticed that the screen flashes off and on, despite the fact that it is connected to AC power.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Any comments would be appreciated (sorry my first post isn't a positive one).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
