topic Picturebook Recovery Failure - HELP! in PCs & Accessories https://community.sony.pt/t5/pcs-accessories/picturebook-recovery-failure-help/m-p/19586#M105777 <HTML><HEAD></HEAD><BODY><P>I have a PCG-C1VFK picture book.<BR /><BR />I have tried out XP on it but decided to swicth back to W2K.<BR />I went to use the recovery disks, but it hangs just after booting.<BR />I see the RAMdisk &amp; cdrom driver texts &amp; then it stops on a blank screen with the cursor in the top left.<BR /><BR />I have tried a few things from the sony site, including manually deleting all partitions, reformating a small 10Mb partition.<BR />It is a new 60Gb HDD, not the orignal if that makes a differnece..<BR /><BR />I suspect the CD could be corrupt but it looks ok.<BR />I did try a manual recover, using the sony RECOVER command on the disk, but it failed at 28% of the image.
