Is this just a flat battery warning because the charger has packed up?

Well the plot thickens. This Vaio has been having a funny 5 minutes or more like 12 hrs.
Turned on, started making the beeping noise, pressed contol alt and it booted up. It still behaved oddly. Persevered for a few minutes and now it is working fine.
Could it be condensation, read something about that in the manual?
Thanks for sall you help and suggestions.
