      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you look on Vaio-Link and page 42 Of the Manual in Adobe, they both say that you should not perform a memory upgrade yourself - 1024Mb is the max.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Having no experience of a V1 myself I can only suggest that unless the whereabouts of the memory slots is apparent andf if you are confident about upgrading that you do it yourself.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;For most models there are instructions, with pictures, for performing a memory upgrade so maybe the slots are not very easily accessable on a V1.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you have any doubts don't do it.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;William&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;PS normally the manual is on the hard disk with a desktop icon (when new) and can be viewed/saved from Vaio link.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

I think u unscrew 2 screws either side where the vents are. and somehow unclip it useing those 2 clips at the back.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Im not sure so u can have a look if u like.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;right, sorry gshayer if this isnt going to be in your case....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;for the w1, its easy peasy, didnt even have to shut down to look...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;the main pc section(the bit behind the screen) has a little button on the left hand side, push it down and slide it to the right, it comes right off and the first thing you see on the left hand side is 2 memory slot, 1 used and 1 empty, its almost begging you to fill it....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;so gshayer if you see a little plastic button on the casing of your v1, it may be worth giving it a push down and sliding it to see if it unveils anything... your responsability though....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;okay, no respect lost to sony......phew.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
