Sony A95L Firmware Update - onscreen volume indicator

A recent firmware update…

Adds an on-screen indicator when adjusting the volume on an external audio system.

I was wondering if anyone knows if this feature is optional? I have the Sony HT-A5000 and I often use the soundbar remote to adjust the volume while watching films, which means I don’t have to see the on-screen indicator. Because of this, I have been putting off updating.

On my AVR the volume notification does not show up if I use its remote to change it.

Why you should adjust the soundbar volume not using the tv remote?

For Bravia 8 tvs it seems like the latest firmware v112.634.040.1 has removed the volume indication when controlling the sound from a soundbar. Thanks Sony!
