From the research I've done, the issue I am experiencing is quite common the E error message that denotes a problem with image stabilisation and flashes on the screen constantly.
The short term fix is to extend the zoom to maximum, remove the battery, wait a few seconds and replace the battery. Power the camera on and the error message (should) disappear.
Unfortunately once powered off the error will return on the next power up.
I am going to attempt a software upgrade over the weekend, to see if I can purge this irritating error on what has been a brilliant camera for over ten years and just appeared out of the blue.
If anyone has experience of solving this issue with other than an update, I'd be obliged if you'd share it.
Keith
Not from my experience after living with this issue for several years and it's too expensive to get it repaired, costs more than to buy another camera. Happened immediately after I did an update.
It's a real shame, because the 400V is the best camera I ever owned. They don't make it any more and bridge cameras seem to have fallen from grace.
