Hi,

I'm having problems with the Capture One Express software (version 20 ?) for Sony.
I want to have a copy of Capture One Express (20) for SONY on a laptop computer for use away from home but cannot get the activation key to work.
I keep getting the error message " . . . . the activation limit has been reached. . . ."

On checking My Account on CAPTURE ONE I see that I have ZERO activations left.

I can't understand that error statement as paragraph 2.3.4 of the Terms and Conditions for a Single user perpetual license for Capture One Express (for Sony) embedded in the software states :-
"If the License acquired is for Capture One Express (for Sony) and provided that you are the legitimate owner of eligible Sony hardware as designated by Phase One in its sole discretion you may install and use an unlimited number of Capture One Express (for Sony) for your own internal use."

So why can't I activate a second copy of Capture 1 Express as also stated in one of their introduction to Capture One Express videos ?

On activating the software I obviously signed up to the Terms and Conditions allowing unlimited copies to be used.

If paragraph 2.3.4 is incorrect then shouldn't  Capture ONE update the agreement ?

As the Express software is LOCKED to the Sony file type then I don't see why there should be a license limitation.

I also note that different answers to "Activation" questions on their FAQs have different answers.

I recognise that I can use the software on different platforms (Laptops, etc.) but to do that I need to de=activate and switch the activation key every time !  That just doesn't seem user friendly or sensible and seems to impose an operating restriction for no apparent advantage.

Could you resolve this or shed any light on this situation ?

(P.S I have also put a question on the Capture One site but I'm doubtful that they will provide a sensible answer in which case I think it will reflect badly on SONY as it's your product they are providing support for.)
