Are system image / recovery disks universal for the same model?

Because i have bought a new vaio and made the  recovery dvds which took 7 disks ,  and the back up and and a system repair disc also. but the laptop got a screen pixle problem and i took it back to get a new 1 straight away from the shop . will the old disks work on the new one ?   dont know what to do ?help

If the model is exactly the same then the Recovery Discs will be identical.
