dark screen

my screen keeps flickering and goes dark so i can barely read it. I push the screen back and forward and it sometimes flickers back to full brightness.:smileycry:

I actually have the same problem with my laptop.

Sometimes when I push the lid up or down, the screen will flicker and go black. So I have to shut the lid completely, put the laptop into stand-by, and then re-start it to get the graphics back.

What's that about, Willis?

Im not sure if i am write or not but it could be a problem with the inverter board.How long have you had your notebook as as far as i know this only happens after a couple of years.

Common problem. If it's when you move the screen it's most likely a loose connection in the hinge.

Next stop, Vaio-Link and sending it in for repair.

I had exactly the same symptoms on my Toshiba notebook - it was well out of warranty so I removed the screen bezel, unplugged the inverter board, reconnected it, then reassembled the whole thing. The screen hasn't gone off since.
