I've a Vaio rs 502
Well i dont have enough pci slot so i have to buy a new motherboard but:
- what is the size of the sony case, what motherboard can fit inside.
- should i change the motherboard+the case ?
- what about the dvd drives's flaps ? is there is some cases withe those flaps ?
- and about the memory card reader, can i put them on a 5'1/4 rack ?
/ps there is only 2 pci slot, coz the modem card block the 3rd one, it's a really bad idea to put a modem card slot here !! So i removed it ( useless) but now, it's full and i think that there is not enough room to dissipate the heat.
sorry for my english.
Sorry, but there is no way. You can't change the motherboard. Next time if you would recover your system, then the Recovery DVD wouldn't recognize your VAIO as a VAIO PC. And you have to activate Windows again, which wouldn't work then.
You could only buy a PCI card which gives you more Firewireports. You could use Firewire devices instead PCI devices. USB2.0 sounds faster on the paper than Firewire400 or iLink. But Firewire gives you a more stable speed, imo.
sorry for my english:smileywink:

The only way you'll successfully do this is by getting an old one off eBay
