Hi fellow Sony users!
I have a Sony Vaio PCG-K215B notebook computer.
I also have an AOL Silver broadband connection (512kbs) with a BT Voyager 105 modem.
I want to make my internet connection wireless, so I can use the laptop anywhere in the house.
I do not think that my laptop has wireless features built in. Therefore, could I ask for your advice on which wireless adapter (bluetooth is it called?) I should purchase to give me wireless capability, AND could you give me advice on which wireless modem to get (which will work well with my Sony).
Ideally I'd like the kind of hardware which won't compromise the speed of my internet connection too much. If it's possible to maintain my current speed, or even increase it (!), I'd be particularly interested to hear your suggestions.
So:
1) Which wireless adapter?
2) Which wireless modem?
Many thanks for your help and suggestions!
Best regards,
Matt.
Hi again.
Thanks guys, I'm a complete newbie to this. Bit of a technophobe!
Now, my current internet connection is AOL broadband (Silver) which is connected through a wired modem.
If I buy this wireless bundle, will I be able to connect to the internet wirelessly THROUGH my AOL connection as normal, or will I have to register for a new service? How does it work?
Well instead of connecting your phone line to that modem AOL gave you, you connect it to this router
