Hi,
I have just purchased the above touchscreen laptop, was prompted to run some updates, after which the touchscreen functionality became disabled.
Does anyone know how I reactivate it?
Thanks

Hi curlysalter and welcome,
Check that the touch screen it enabled in Control Panel > Hardware, Pen and touch > touch tab.
If it is already enabled try a System Restore to a prior date when you know that the touch screen was working. If this resolves the issue then be very careful about which Microsoft updates you allow.

I cannot find the options suggested in the control panel. Incidentally, I am running Windows 8.1. The touchscreen is sometimes there form start up, but usually not. And the keyboard doesn't appear on the screen if the touchscreen isn't there.
I will be grateful for suggestions.
