VPCJ12M0E Update Issues [Vaio care recovery + Rescue Data]

Hi, I have a VPCJ12M0E Desktop and Vaio care has just popped up with two updates:

Vaio care recovery - 31/3/2014 30267KB

Rescue Data(x86) Update Program 24/2/2014 22468KB

When I click update, I get:

Installation failed

Please wait a while, then try again.

And further still, when I click the links to the updates listed above I get the following pages respectively (404 not found!)

Can anybody please help? I had an issue like this before with an update that never seemed to get resolved, something to do with nividia graphics driver or something.

Update:

I tried updating Vaio care recovery on it's own, which didn't work.

So I then tried updating Rescue Data(x86) Update Program on it's own, and that updated just fine.

So now I'm left with just the one update which still gives the same error:

This problem effects serveral models but if you try the direct download it should install.

That seems to have done the trick thank you, although I'd hope that VaioCare itself can take care of this in the future.

EDIT: Can I safely remove the download from my PC after having done the update? I like to keep it as clean as possible.

Hi volksdevil,

There have been problems with Vaio Update and Vaio Care for many years, so although the applications should take care of updates if you do encounter problems then it is always worth investigating a direct download from the support site.

Yes you can safely remove the downloaded file once installed.
