Noise cancellation on Z1?

Will it be possible to use the noise cancelling headphones of Z2 on the Z1? In other words, are there hard ware differences between the models that are required for the Z2 nc headphones?

Read here,they are not compatible with other devices except Z2 and Z2 tablet.
