My KD-43X8305C has become sluggish and requires frequent resets to factory settings. I don't know if it needs a firmware update. By contrast, my 49-inch Bravia is much faster all round.
Does anyone know what the latest firmware is for the KD-43X8305C?
The last firmware update made available for that model of TV was v5.457 in April 2021.
Sony announced they would stop firmware updates for that model in June 2024.

Have you tried clearing the cached data for any apps you use.
Or deleted apps you no longer use.
And if you do you use certain apps have you checked to see if there are updates for those.
I've just tried replying to your post but I get a message saying:

No idea what that was all about. Ridiculous - typical Sony.
My old boss used to be Marketing Director of Sony Broadcast Europe. Shame he's not there now, otherwise sparks would fly for whoever is in charge of the board.
I'm hopping mad 😡
I've tried uploading a screengrab* of the message I got when I tried answering your post but it won't upload.

I don't know what you are trying to write and indeed the site has become quite hard to use.
In any case wht do you mean by "sluggish"? and compared to which 49" Sony TV?
You are talking about a 10 years old tv, first google implementation for Sony, a slow mediatek chip, low memory that was slow also when brand new...

I mean sluggish in terms of how the KD-43X8305C loads episodes in BBC iPlayer,
particularly when compared to the 49" KD-49XE8077. A soft reset is usually needed (i.e. hold down power button until TV turns itself off and back on again).
NB. The above post has been shortened because the web page would not allow me to write the necessary description of the problem. Again!!!
