Earbuds from Xperia Arc not working on Xperia E4
Hi everyone,
I have earbuds from xperia arc, with which I'm satisfied regarding the sound reproduction on laptop or desktop. However, when I use these earbuds on E4 I get a message: "Headset not supported...", and I have to keep mic button pressed in order to have full quality sound.
I do have the earbuds that came with E4 and they work fine. Both of the earbuds (E4 and Arc) have three plastic stripes on them, so I guess the connection is the same.
So, the question is, is it possible to use headphones from Arc on E4?
Thanks!

I was just about to reply with this

My solution for my laptop
Its a 4 pole to 3 pole, which separates mic (red), and speaker (green), then a 3 pole to 4 pole that merges then again.
You would have had to chop your last microphone adapter wire and swap the bottom 2 segments around

Just used electrical tape to keep the mic pressed:

On laptop and desktop machines, the sound is OK.
Thank you for your help.

Just had another backyard job idea, you could just short the last 2 segments on the arc headphones... That gives it the ground, with the two audio at the tip.
The alternative is pushing the plug in further... Which will damage the jack on your phone... So don't do this
