Problem with Facebook after update to Android 4.4

After updating my Xperia E1 on Android 4.4.2 (Kitkat) my Facebook App was automatically uninstalled. If I want to install the app from Google Play Store I get the Message "Incompatible Version" and the installation is aborted. I shut down my mobile, removed sim-card and battery put both in again and than started the phone again but that changed nothing. A repair over PC Companion failured also due to no available software. Followed Geran's instructions and backed up everything to the SD card and then did a factory re-set. The facebook app was there when the phone started up again. And it still worked after restoring everything from the SD card. Thanks Geran.

I have the same problem but without updating my E1, it was like that when I bought it ( no Facebook and when I wanted to upload FB from GP it was not compatible). Another thing is that I don't have a computer and I want to make an update but can I do it in internet cafe.? Is it safe and is it even worthwhile to do it? So many people have problem's after updating. My phone is quite slow now but so many people have problem with kitkat update. Any ideas what to do here?

Same problem over here. No Facebook ("incompatible" message after installation) and very slow respons when starting an app or typing. Does the repair help? As first it is stated that
