HP-511A repairs

My HP-511A record deck is about 50 years old and has developed a fault with the speaker connection and only the left hand main speaker and remote speaker connections work. I think the fault may lie with a broken fuse holder clip. Any ideas where I can get it repaired in Devon. I guess I need an electronics repair expert, old time. Any ideas anyone?

Hi @Retired1998 I'm not going to lie mate, but due to the seniority of the device you will have to at least get it inspected in a service centre. I have searched for a locator link in the UK and found this, just apply filters and entre your postcode: https://locator.sony/en_GB/servicecenters/?zoom=5&latitude=54.29088&longitude=-2.37305

Many thanks. I have checked the reviews for this service centre and it doesn't look as if it has a very good reputation. They do a lot of work for different types of product and there appear to be lots of complaints about their tardiness and professionalism. I suppose I'm really looking for a small electronics repair workshop, but they appear few and far between. Thanks for your efforts and if I can't find anyone recommended then I may have to go back to these guys. Thanks again.

Hi Retired1988,

welcome to the Sony user community..

II’m not sure of your location in Devon but a quick search for Vintage record player repair near Exeter found -

Retro Amps

And similar search for Plymouth found -

Audio Grail
I haven’t any first hand experience with any of these, so best do your own research, but it would seem there are some places available locally that may be able to help, good luck with your search..
