When are Sony going to listen to customers and issue a firmware update for older TVs that allows the info banner to be disabled? This ridiculously annoying and pointless function pops up every time you pause, rewind or fast forward or even change the channel depending upon which type of sound is being transmitted. It’s as laborious as Sony’s own support function who basically tell you “tough.”
This board is full of similar complaints. Sony needs to get its act together.
Hi magictorch1976,
I see where you're coming from. As far as I'm aware, you can disable it by pressing the info button on the remote control, but this will only disable it temporarily. I'll try to pass on your feedback regarding this to Sony for consideration if possible.
Cheers,

This needs to be fixed.

hi, I was having the same problem with my Sony BRAVIA KDL-32CX523, SERIAL NR 3636435, with a software version PKG4.027EUA-0104.
DEVICE ID - 30:F9:ED:63:80:39
the Banner nuisance started couple of years ago, would keep appearing every few mins, at the bottom of the screen and would repeat at the top of screen after few seconds.
I did try the following step but didn't work:
Home>System Settings?Info Banner>Hidden
Failing the above step, I did a factory reset. It seems the reset has fixed the problem for now, will update if the banner appear again.

When in the name of god are you going to release a software fix for this issue that is prevailing throughout your customer community? There are literally hundreds of posts and we are still stuck with the problem.
Pull your finger out and issue a firmware update that solves the issue please. Your responsiveness and lack of care of the issue is terrible customer service.
If you are unable to be bothered, I want my tv replacing with a model that doesn’t show this “fault.” YOU have the responsibility here to resolve the issue.

Hi @magictorch1976 Sorry this is a user community (not Sony). The YOU you are referring to are just fellow customers. Please try contacting Sony UK Support
