Blu-Ray keeps being accessed by Win7 OS

Hi,

I have an annoying problem on my VAIO SVE1711Z1EB laptop. Whenever I launch any media application, it spins a Blu-Ray drive for a second, even though there is no disc. Also what I experienced this morning, is that even without me sitting in front of the laptop, the drive is still checked by some background system processes. I checked Event Log and the I couldn't find anything. I used Process Explorer and it seems that, for instance, iTunes checks the drive directly when being launched. Is there any way of switching this somehow off? I checked different forums but couldn't find any satisfying solution? Anyone had the same problem?

Thanks a lot.
