Hello members
I'm trying to connect my Vaio PC VGC RA304 with another old PC I have.
The problem is that I don't have success.
Previously, in VGC RA304, I connected a USB ADSL modem (Sagem FAST800) and I connected wireless LAN Access point PCWA-A320 as discribed in Sony documentation in order to connect Network media receiver VGP-MR100.
Then, I bought a Wireless USB adaptator for the old PC to share internet connection and folders/files.
The result is that I can't share all at same time.
If I share internet I see nomore PC server in media server and vice_versa.
And in all configuration I have no success in sharing folders an files.
Someone have any recommendations to resolved this problem?
I don't use routers or ADSLrouters. May be this is a part of problem?
But I thought PCWA access point was sufficiant to make a network.
Thank in advance for any help.
You need a wireless router - best with ADSL modem inside and firewall, as it's much better than software
This is the one I have, you can connect two PCs to share files, and watch stuff off the NMR and have a print server
Thanks for your suggestion
Do I have also to connect Access point PCWA-A320. If yes, where? directly to wireless router? Or in an other order?
Will it be easy to setup? have you any concil for tunning?
Thanks in advance.
That depends on your config, but yes if you want wireless media streaming then it can act as that and networking for your internet
If you use a wireless router, you don't need to use the access point PCWA wich is delivered with your RA 304.
I have a wireless network configuration with a RA 304, a VAIO Laptop and a second VAIO desktop, a VGP-MR100 to stream audio and video from every! pc to tv and home cinema audio system.
I use a wireless router from D-Link, wich is connect with cable to the two desktops, and two wireless conections to the laptop and the media receiver VGP.
You need more details? Ok, ask me.
Greetings
Ralf
Hi
Thanks for your informations
I have bought Linksys WAG54G and now I had success in connecting the to computers.
But I have no luck with Media receiver.
I ask myself if maybe it is a problem with IP adresses.
Router adress is 192.168.1.1
For the 2 PC's I have associated IP adresses 192.168.1.xxx
The problem is that I don't arrive to give this type of IP adress
to the media receiver. When i choise "automatic adressing with router" on MR100 parameters, it give me 169.254.xxx.xxx kind of adress.
And if I give manually an adress 192.168.1.xxx nothing happens too.
Do you know if MR100 works only with 169.254.xxx.xxx adresses?
What adresses do you put in your wireless network?
Thanks for help.
