Im wondering whats the normal temp on a397xp.

WIth battery I get around 50...after 10 min- just surfing. With El-cord plugged 59-up to 64., then the fan starts and Ill stay on 60 ...this with only surfing on the net- no games playing.

I have used mobilmeter. Is this normal.

The Intel Pentium ULV 1.2Ghz on the T2XP runs at 50C virtually all the time no matter what I'm doing.

Hmmm, you can't compare the ULV with the normal PentiumM. The Pentium M ULV produced less than 10watts heat. The normal PM has more than the double of them.

Nothing dramatic there but for an Intel Pentium M Processor 760 I would suggest that you are on the upper limits of acceptability.

How old is the notebook – possibly the cooling vents require cleaning.

You could always try changing the CPU control to adaptive (for the battery profile).

The computer Is 1 week old. I had a question earlier with th fan going- stopping 5 sec then keep going.

Average I have 60 c... Is that to much richie or normal.

I get around 55 on adaptive mode- and thats not to bad.
67 Is the highest I had, but this is what mobilmeter say,

Been on for about 3 hours - and Im on 60 c right now.

That's about right. Idle temperature should be about 55C with peaks up to about 70C when the fan should run at higher speed.
