Problems reinstalling OS and software on AR61M

I created the three reinstall discs.  OS is Windows Vista Home Premium

Put first disc in, it gave me various options one of which was a complete wipe and erase (this I wanted to do as I'm giving the laptop to my brother in law).

I executed the complete erase BUT may have asked to erase the separate partition driveThen went to reinstall the OS and all preinstalled software from my 3 recovery disks, first 2 worked ok   to 26%  then when I put third disk in, it just ejects that disk and asks me to put the 3rd disk, i put that disc in again and it ejects and asks me to put third disc in again , ad infinitum.

Anyone know if i can get replacement discs from Sony or other solution.

Hi chrrobin75,

It would seem that the third disk is faulty, have you tried cleaning it?

Before going down the route of ordering replacement disks from Support try tapping F10 at boot, when you see the Vaio logo. This should take you to the HDD Recovery Utility.

If this works then, once the OS is reinstalled, make a further set of recovery media.

thx rich   , tried the F10 route but it didnt work, if anyone knows where within sony I can get replacement discs it would be useful as I'm struggling to find a contact email or anything

Hi chrrobin75,

To order a set of recovery media you will have to use the premium rate out of warranty number 0905 0310006. Have your serial number to hand...
