Sound distorted using audio jack to stereo amp

The problem occurs when I plug the audio to my stereo via the 3.5 mm audio jack and have the power cord plugged in at the same time. If I run on battery alone the sound is fine. I was using Spotify at the time.

Anyone heard of this problem, is it a warranty issue?

Hi zodah8,

From your description it would seem that you are experiencing ‘Ground Loop’ and no I don’t think that this is a warranty issue.

Google ‘Ground Loop Isolator’ for a possible solution.

From what I can gather from google it may well be the problem. I will try to solve it with a ground loop isolator and post the results.
