Vaio update wrong identify problem

Hello,

My vaio model is FS295VP,

When i enter the vaio update site, it sees my drive as Sony DW-D56A, but my drive is Pioneer DVR-K15.

I cant update its firmware.

Any ideas ?

Hi elevent and welcome to Club Vaio.

Do you have a problem with the drive? If not then I would give firmware updates a wide berth – if it isn’t busted…..and all that.

The DW-D56A has been causing problems so that is perhaps why there is an update for that drive (not that the update fixes the problem).
