why when i send a message it doesnt send and goes straight to my outbox?

Which email client are you using? Have you checked the send/receive settings are set to send immediately?

Which email provider do you use ie Sky, BT, Google, Hotmail, etc.?

Have you checked you have set up your email account settings correctly.?
