Wireless display not appearing in charms menu - Windows 8.1, Sony Vaio Pro 13, Netgear PTV3000

Hi,

I'm trying to connect my laptop running Windows 8.1 to a new wireless display unit (specifically, a Netgear PTV3000). However, I'm unable to connect to the device using the Charms menu - when I go Charms->Devices>Project I just get an option on what to do with a connected screen rather than an option to add a wireless device. However, both Windows the Intel Graphics Control Panel confirms I don't have another screen already attached (see attached screenshot for all this information) so I'm a bit perplexed!

The PTV3000 device appears to be working correctly:

1) when I connect it to the TV it displays instructions on how to connect to various devices
2) I am able to access the PTV3000 management utility over the network and make changes
3) it's visible as a device when I go to add devices (adding the device here causes the connected display to ask me to enter a number into windows, which I don't have a place to enter!)

So I'm fairly sure the problem lies somewhere with the laptop. Any ideas?

System details:

Sony Vaio Pro 13
Windows 8.1
BenQ GL2450HM display
All drivers up-to-date (updated today using Vaio Update for the laptop and from the Netgear website for the PTV3000)

Hi corwin365 and welcme.

Unfortunately, I don't have a PVT3000 so I have no first hand experience of this setup.

Does anything in this You Tube video, uploaded by Netgear, help at all?
