rdr-hxd970 remote resetting

 Hi
I have 2 of these great machines and mistakenly changed the command mode on one to 3 (default). The other one has the same command mode and is working okay. I am not now able to make any changes to set up as they all seem to rely on the remote working. Is there a way of changing settings using the front panel of the dvd recorder itself so that I can then set up the remote again

I've managed to sort out the problem fortunately by using both remortes and changing their command mode settings
